The Pulitzer Prize Organization, which rewards journalists for outstanding work in the field of journalism, announced on Monday that the New York news agency ‘Associated Press’ (AP) and the newspaper ‘New York Times’ for their coverage during the conflict in Ukraine. Pulitzer Prize 2023 has been awarded.
The AP won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news photography while reporting in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, as well as the organization’s Public Service Award for its Ukraine coverage, the Pulitzer Prize organization said in a live-streamed announcement ceremony. In addition, The New York Times won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting for its work on the Ukraine conflict, including its coverage of the alleged massacre by Russian forces in Bucha.
Regarding this coverage, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that none of the residents of Bucha had suffered at the hands of the Russian military. Russia called for an independent investigation into the allegations against it, including the identity of the alleged victims, the time and cause of death, and the possible transportation of the deceased.
The 2023 Pulitzer Prize winners include the LA Times for breaking news reporting by secretly recording racist remarks by public officials, the Washington Post for national reporting for coverage of US abortion politics, the organization said. and The Wall Street Journal, which falls under the category of investigative reporting for its coverage of conflicts of interest by US federal agencies.
