Saudi Arabia announces the resumption of its diplomatic mission in Syria

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement, reported by “SPA”, that the decision stems “from the ties of brotherhood that unite the peoples of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Syrian Arab Republic, and from the desire to contribute to the development of joint Arab action.

Among the reasons for the decision, she added, is also “the strengthening of security and stability in the region, and taking into account the decision made by the ministerial meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab States”, which was held in Cairo on May 7, and “the decision to resume the participation of the delegations of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Council of the League of States.” And in accordance with the principles of the Charters of the United Nations and the League of Arab States, and international conventions and standards.
