A New York jury has found the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, guilty in the case of the attempted rape of journalist and writer Jean Carroll. This information was published by CNN.
According to journalists, the jury agreed that the ex-head of state actually committed acts of personal injury against the columnist in the spring of 1996. At the same time, they did not see the guilt of Trump in the rape he was originally accused of.
Court orders former White House chief to pay Carroll $2 million in moral damages for harassment in civil lawsuit settlement . In addition, he must transfer another 3 million dollars to the journalist’s account for having slandered her and damaged her reputation.
Trump himself has said he views the writer’s rape allegations as an outright lie and a witch hunt.
“I say that with a lot of respect – it’s not my style,” he explained.
Previously it was reported that the former US leader is not planning to testify in the Carroll attempted rape case.
