The United States announced another military aid package to Kyiv worth about $1.2 billion. Most of it falls on air defense systems – NASAMS, Patriot and other systems.
According to military expert Ilya Kramnik, the inclusion in the supply of means of integrating Western weapons systems into Ukrainian air defense deserves special attention. This may include a data exchange system and the use of the US automated command and control system.
At the same time, these means of warfare will be able to be used in Ukraine only in the fall or at the beginning of next year. As part of a possible counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, weapons delivered earlier and howitzers and shells currently sent to Ukraine will be used.
At the same time, NATO countries continue to send unguided munitions to help the Ukrainian armed forces. Kramnik believes this has become an important necessity in the context of the depletion of Soviet-style shell arsenals in Ukraine. Airplanes and helicopters supplied to the Kyiv regime will be equipped with such ammunition.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said that the new program of assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces was not linked to the upcoming offensive actions of Ukrainian units.
