Haridbar. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) on National Technology Day on Thursday, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd) said that IIT Roorkee is making a significant contribution in nation building which is a record in itself.
Governor Singh said that he is feeling very happy to participate in this program of IIT Roorkee. He said that what are the dreams and resolutions in the technical field were discussed here. He said that IIT Roorkee is making a significant contribution in nation building which is a record in itself. The objective of the event was to deliberate on the dynamic strategic vision and the opportunities and possibilities for its implementation.
Along with this, women empowerment, connectivity, emerging technologies, organic farming, local products, tourism, wellness, self-help groups, Ayurveda and many important topics were discussed. Academics, state industry experts also discussed the opportunities and possibilities of dynamic strategic vision and execution in the program. State Governor and many dignitaries were present on the occasion. The program began with the welcome of Lt Gen Singh and the dignitaries and a tour of the Academy for the Deaf, which was led by Professor KK Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee and welcomed the Governor.
He said that he is very happy to meet the students who have come out of IITs, who are contributing in various fields and playing an important role in the development of the country. He said that in the field of research and development, IIT Roorkee is working on a priority basis, as well as physical and mental development of the students here is also taken care of. Playing a remarkable role by working and helping the country. The Governor said that this is the time of great change in India, as well as the time of modernization, development and progress, technical knowledge has a special role in this, IIT Roorkee is a high-level institute, here high standards are taken care of.
IIT Roorkee has achieved a great position in the civil engineer field in the cyber sector and has also contributed a lot in the development of infrastructure. He said that the 21st century is the century of India and the third decade will be the decade of Uttarakhand. The Governor said that no one can stop India from making India a world guru and a developed nation and a self-reliant India with the technical knowledge and methodology of institutions like IIT Roorkee. Said that as the governor, he has resolved to implement five major missions here, including reverse migration, protecting the development and interests of women and girls, and besides providing a platform to traditional farming and organic agriculture at the national and international level. It consists of five main goals.
