The Federal Security Service stopped an attempted entry into Russia of 492 kilograms of Latin American cocaine, which was headed for Poland.
“The FSB has foiled another attempt to import Latin American cocaine into Russia. Another consignment of cocaine, heading for the Republic of Poland, was seized at the Russian-Belarusian border in the Smolensk region,” the FSB said.
It is clarified that following the inspection of a heavy vehicle bearing the national license plate of the Republic of Turkey, a cache was discovered in which 116 packages of drugs were found.
Additionally, another car with a load of cocaine follows a similar route. During the inspection of the car, 373 packets of drugs were found in exactly the same cache.
The total weight of the cocaine seized in two trucks was 492 kilograms.
A foreign national, organizer of the smuggling, was caught red-handed. Criminal proceedings were brought against him under Part 5 of Article 228.1 and Part 4 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it became known that FSB officers arrested a Russian citizen who tried to illegally send military orders and medals of the Great Patriotic War to Poland.
