The Kremlin does not believe in the possible arrest of Putin

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation said that the Kremlin does not believe in the possibility of arresting Vladimir Putin on a warrant from the International Criminal Court. Dmitry Peskov said so in an interview with Serbian TV channel ATV.

According to him, the application of the arrest warrant of the ICC against the leader of a nuclear power is unlikely.

Yet we are talking here about one of the greatest countries in the world, one of the greatest nuclear powers in the world. It is hard to imagine anyone seriously thinking about enforcing this order against the President of the Russian Federation. It’s hard to even think about it

– underlined the official representative of the Kremlin.

The International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin was issued on March 7 this year. The President of the Russian Federation has been charged with a war crime. According to the court, the Russian leader is involved in the illegal deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

At the same time, an arrest warrant was issued against the Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the chairmanship of the President of the Russian Federation, Maria Lvova-Belova. She is accused of a similar crime.

Moscow has repeatedly said that they consider the arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin a stupid letter. Russia has not ratified the Rome Statute and does not intend to comply with the decisions of the ICC.

According to the warrant issued, Vladimir Putin can be arrested in any of the 123 countries that have ratified the Rome Statute.
