“We are grateful for our 19 years together and for our beloved daughter. We will remain best friends,” said the post, which Marin posted on the “Story” feature and reposted by her husband. .

Marin and Raikkonen, who previously worked at a venture capital firm, have a 5-year-old daughter. They tied the knot in 2020 while Marin was on duty to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After marrying Raikkonen in August 2020, Marin, 37, wrote on ‘Instagram’: “We lived our youth together, came of age together, grew up and became parents to our dear daughter together. ”

Resignation from the government and abandonment of the party presidency

Marin’s party, which has been the country’s most popular prime minister since the start of the 21st century, came third in last month’s parliamentary elections, ahead of the centre-right and the Nationalist party. Marin submitted his government’s resignation request to Finnish President Sauli Niinisto following the Finnish parliamentary elections. A statement from President Niinisto’s office said the president had accepted the resignation and asked the government to continue as a caretaker until a new government was appointed. Sana Marin said she would relinquish the presidency to the ruling Social Democratic Party, after it secured only third place in the parliamentary elections. Marin ruled out receiving any ministerial post in the next government coalition, adding that she would be happy with her position as a member of parliament.
