Electric train “Swallow” in test mode moved from Sochi to Gagra News

It should be noted that this was a test launch, and in general it went well. However, the Abkhaz side clarified that there are still problems that need to be eliminated, but they can be solved.

The arrival of “Lastochka” in the republic became possible thanks to the agreement concluded this year between the companies “Abkhazian Railway” and “Russian Railways”. It is expected that the train will run regularly between the Russian city of Sochi and the Abkhaz city of Gagra.

“Of course, it is not worth saying that the Lastochka will start working tomorrow, it could happen next year. In any case, this day will remain in the history of Abkhazia,” said Arsua Chitanava, General Director of the Abkhaz Railway.

Earlier it was reported that the launch of the “Swallow” between Sochi and Gagra is scheduled for the start of the tourist season.
