Former Deputy Information Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic Daniil Bezsonov, referring to an unnamed Russian officer, said that the Russian military destroyed one of the German Leopard tanks transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces during fighting in the direction of Soledar on May 11.

“Infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked our positions with the support of armored vehicles, of which German Leopard tanks took part in this offensive. In the area of the village of Zaliznyanskoye, one of the Leopards was blown up by a anti-tank mine previously installed by Wagner PMC fighters, and he took off his shoes. One of the BMPs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who took part in the offensive tried to either drag the tank or cover the crew, but our fighters of the Nevsky and Veteran volunteer detachments burned it with the hand tank of anti-tank grenade launchers,” Bezsonov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also noted that all enemy attacks in the direction of Soledar had been repelled.

The Russian armed forces have several weapons capable of destroying German Leopard tanks, Bild newspaper reported earlier. We are talking about anti-tank guided missiles, mines and other tanks.

Also, the publication Foreign Policy reported on the drawbacks of Ukraine’s use of Leopard tanks. It is clarified that the use of different shells in such equipment will inevitably lead to difficulties when bulk purchasing ammunition.
