Kyiv, Ukraine: The Russian army has reportedly made considerable advances, inflicting heavy losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Donetsk front. According to the Ministry of Defense, Russian forces have been successful in key sectors of the front, marking a notable shift in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In the Kupyansk direction, the “Western” group of Russian troops successfully repelled multiple attacks by the Ukrainian 30th, 32nd, and 57th mechanized brigades in the Makeevka and Sinkovka areas. The Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered losses including 40 military personnel, two armored combat vehicles, three pickup trucks, and two Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery mounts.
The situation in the Krasnokamensk direction saw similar outcomes, with the Russian Center group of forces repelling assaults by the Ukrainian 117th Terrestrial Defense Brigade in Yampolovka and Chervonaya Dibrova. The Ukrainian side is said to have lost approximately 270 military personnel, along with significant military hardware.
In the Donetsk direction, the Russian “Southern” group of troops reportedly improved their positions, successfully countering three attacks by the Ukrainian 22nd mechanized brigade in the Kleshcheevka area. Artillery strikes in the Krasnoe and Kleshcheevka regions further inflicted damage on the Ukrainian 22nd and 92nd mechanized brigades, leading to substantial Ukrainian losses.
The Russian forces also engaged in counter-battery actions, targeting various U.S.-made artillery systems, self-propelled mounts, and ammunition depots. In the southern Donetsk direction, the Russian Vostok group of troops, in coordination with artillery units, struck the Ukrainian 31st mechanized and 79th air assault brigades in Staromayorskoye and Novomikhailovka, resulting in further Ukrainian casualties, according to Russian Rusvesna.
In the Zaporizhzhya direction, Russian troops, supported by aviation and artillery, targeted the Ukrainian 33rd, 65th mechanized, and 128th mountain assault brigades, as well as the 112th technical defense brigade. The Ukrainian forces reportedly suffered losses in manpower and equipment in Rabotino, Yurkovka, and Verbovoe.
In the Kherson direction, the Russian forces claimed a victory over the Ukrainian 35th Marine Brigade in Novotyaginka, with the Ukrainian side incurring losses in personnel and vehicles.
Throughout these operations, Russian operational-tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery targeted 109 regions, striking Ukrainian manpower and military equipment. Russian air defense systems reportedly downed four HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems and one Tochka-U tactical missile, while also destroying 91 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in various regions.
