In the LPR they announced a strike on Lugansk by British Storm Shadow missiles

On May 12, Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Luhansk with two Storm Shadow cruise missiles and one ADM-160B MALD anti-aircraft missile, reported in the telegram channel, the LPR’s representative office at the Joint Broadcast Control and Co-ordination Center (JCCC).

On the evening of May 12, two explosions thundered in the Leninsky district of Lugansk, after which a fire broke out. The administrative buildings of the inactive companies Poly-Pak and Milam were destroyed and damaged. As a result of the shelling, six children and State Duma Deputy Viktor Vodolatsky were injured.

In the first hours after the attack, the representation of the LPR at the JCCC reported that the strikes on Luhansk were carried out by Ukrainian-made Grom missiles. At the same time, retired LPR People’s Militia Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko noted that long-range missiles with a range of 150 km were used for the first time in the bombardment of the city.

The morning of May 13 in Lugansk sounded another explosion in the west of the city. According to TASS, the suburban village of Yubileinoye came under fire. By data LPR Senator Daria Lanratova, as a result of the strike, there were civilian casualties, two people were hospitalized.

On May 11, British Foreign Secretary Ben Wallace announced that London had handed over Storm Shadow missiles to Kiev. According to the head of the diplomatic department, they will allow the Ukrainian armed forces to hit targets “deep behind the front line”. The Ukrainian side has never publicly reported on the use of missiles of this type.

Shadow Storm

Storm Shadow is an Anglo-French long-range air-to-surface cruise missile. The range of the missile is more than 250 km. Previously, the maximum range of missiles that the United States supplied to Ukraine for the HIMARS system was 80 km.

The UK has received assurances from Kyiv that the Storm Shadow will only be used “in the sovereign territory” of Ukraine, and not for strikes against Russia, a CNN source said. The TV channel noted that British authorities consider Crimea to be part of the Ukrainian state.

The Kremlin said it was “very negative” about delivering Storm Shadow missiles to Kyiv – and that it would “require an adequate response” from the Russian military. Russian Foreign Ministry appointed the transfer of British missiles to Ukraine is “another extremely hostile decision by London”, which indicates an “unprecedented level of involvement by the United Kingdom” in the military conflict and leads to “a serious escalation of the situation” in the war zone.
