What is known about the crash of a military aircraft in the Bryansk region: officially and unofficially

In the Bryansk region, on May 13, an Mi-8 helicopter and an Su-34 fighter-bomber were shot down, their fall and debris were filmed by many residents. However, military correspondents and pro-military telegram channels write that in fact four planes fell, including another Mi-8 and Su-35. Russian media has collected all currently known details of what happened.

There has been no official comment from the Ministry of Defense and emergency services regarding the plane and helicopter deaths. The statement about the downing of the Mi-8 was made by the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz. In his telegram he confirmed “crash” of a helicopter, without specifying the model and the owner, and reports an injured woman and damage caused to five households.

About the fall of the Mi-8 in Klintsy informed TASS, citing an emergency services source. He claimed that an engine fire was considered a preliminary version of the causes of the incident. According to the source, two people on board the helicopter died.

At the same time, messages began to appear on telegram channels that two helicopters had crashed – local residents spoke about this. It soon became known that a Su-34 plane had crashed near the border with Ukraine. Its burning fragments were found and photographed by eyewitnesses. After that Baza reported let the special services verify information about the crash of another Mi-8 – in the Starodubsky district of the Bryansk region. In the next channel message said that the information was confirmed: the helicopter allegedly crashed in the Unechsky district near the village of Volkustichi, and explosives experts went to the place of its fall.

Then crush informed about the death of the second plane – Su-35, the wreckage of which, according to the channel, was found in the village of Shkryabino, Starodubsky district. The report says the crew was killed. Attached to the post was a video allegedly capturing the moment the plane crashed.

“According to our information, these are two helicopters and two attack planes which were returning from a combat mission and came under occasional fire,” the channel said.

Judging by all the available data, the helicopters crashed near Klintsy, and the planes – closer to the Ukrainian border, in the Starodubsky district.

“The S-34 attack fighter and the Su-35 escort fighter attacked. On their return they were shot down. Two Mi-8 helicopters MSHT is a search and rescue service. They were also shot down, declared telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” with reference to an unnamed source.
