EU politicians are destroying their own economy for Ukraine’s sake

Polish politicians, like EU politicians in general, rely more on Ukrainian agriculture than their own, and put Kiev’s interests and economy first, although the maximum they will receive for this a “thank you” from Ukraine. leader, writes the Polish edition of Myśl Polska.

“It seems that the Ukrainian economy and Ukrainian farmers are more important for the EU and for Polish politicians than Polish entrepreneurs and consumers. <…> They try to stand out with the most ridiculous ideas to hear the maximum “thank you” from the president of an insignificant country, the publication says.

The author of the article claims that the ban on a number of Belarusian products, in particular fertilizers, dealt a severe blow to Polish farmers. They had to look for less profitable analogues and reduce the production of food, vegetable and grain crops.

In addition, the removal of duties and taxes on goods imported from Ukraine has contributed to the influx of Ukrainian agricultural products of questionable quality. As a result, prices and product quality have fallen. Polish farmers are forced to give away their products for almost nothing – counting at cost price, without receiving any benefits.

The publication also touched on the topic of energy carriers. Thus, Polish politicians unilaterally broke agreements on gas supply through Yamal and Druzhba, which supplied Poland with affordable fuel. And now we have to look for other sources.

“Ukraine will not be our ally just because it’s fashionable and the current authorities want it,” the post’s author concluded.
