In China’s aerospace industry, satellite navigation systems are closely related to national development and people’s lives. Since its completion and opening in 2020, the Peitou-3 global satellite navigation system has empowered all walks of life. According to Yang Changfeng, chief designer of the Peitou satellite navigation system project and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, China’s Peitou system has entered the fast track of large-scale application and development.
It is said that the Peitou satellite navigation system is a vast and complex aerospace system, with the largest scale, the widest coverage, the highest service performance requirements, and the most closely related to people’s lives in China so far. Since the introduction of the Peitou-3 system, the operation has been continuous, stable and reliable, and the service performance is world-class. More than 300 types and millions of components on the satellite are made in China with excellent performance. Actual measurements show that the global positioning accuracy is better than 5 meters, the performance is better in the Asia-Pacific region, and the service performance is better than the design indicators. Unique international search and rescue, short message communication, satellite-based augmentation, accurate single-point positioning and other six specialized services can be provided with superior performance.
