And the British website “Express” quoted Mohamed Jawdat, former commercial director of Google’s research and development company, Google X, as saying: “After the emergence of ChatGPT… the only way we think is that the ‘artificial intelligence will eliminate us absolutely we have to, but we don’t think beyond that.’
He added: “The danger is that the AI can generate its own computing power and do the installations itself through automatic weapons.”
And he continued: “It is not excluded that he creates killing machines because humans make them too… that artificial intelligence can use them to dictate an agenda, like the movie ‘I.Robot’ , which starred actor Will Smith.
He explained, “But this case is still a bit far off… We are in the middle now, and mankind will decide to give more power to these machines.”
The warning comes as the poll, conducted by Reuters/Ipsos and released on Wednesday, found that most Americans believe the rapid growth of artificial intelligence technology could jeopardize the future of humanity.
According to the poll, more than two-thirds of Americans worry about the negative repercussions of artificial intelligence, and 61% believe it could threaten civilization.
