New Delhi. Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the land-for-job scam case. ED interrogated Rabri Devi for about 6 hours. The Central Investigation Agency has also questioned Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Misa Bharti in this matter.
Official sources said on Thursday that former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi reached the ED office in New Delhi at around 11 am and left after a long questioning that lasted for six hours. Rabri Devi was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this case. Now the ED is recording his statement under the charges of money laundering.
In fact, according to the first charge sheet filed by the CBI in the alleged land-for-jobs scam case, laid down norms and procedures were not followed in railway recruitment and irregular appointments of candidates were made in the Central Railway. Now ED is also probing this matter.
It is noteworthy that the land-for-job scam is 14 years old. This scam dates back to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister. It is claimed that Lalu Yadav had taken land in lieu of giving jobs to people in the Railways when he was the Railway Minister. Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. The CBI had registered a case in this matter on May 18 last year, which is now being investigated by the ED.
