Indonesia will not introduce quotas and restrictions for tourists from Russia, it is trying to increase the tourist flow to the country. This was declared by Deputy Ambassador of Indonesia to the Russian Federation Berlian Hemli on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World forum: KazanForum.

“No, (there won’t be. – Approx. ed.) No restrictions for tourists, including from Russia,” he said.

On the contrary, Indonesia is trying to increase the number of visitors to the country, including Russians, Hemli said. The deputy ambassador also noted that the authorities are not only focusing on Bali and are ready to show tourists many other interesting places.

Bali Governor Wayan Coster previously announced he was ready to introduce a quota system for foreign tourists, which would involve registering a year before a possible visit to the island and queuing to enter . According to him, such a measure should reduce the risk of violation of the law by foreigners on the island.

In March, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia could introduce a simplified visa regime with six countries, including Indonesia, India and Vietnam. Yevgeny Ivanov, State Secretary – Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, spoke about the preparation of the corresponding agreement.
