Truck traffic on the Crimean Bridge will not be started yet for safety reasons. This statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin.
“We have decided not to do this for the time being, as there are always attempts to provoke and influence the Crimean Bridge… Considering that we have a guaranteed land corridor, and our ferry service does not stop not to operate, nevertheless, we, through a joint commission agreement with all the security agencies … have adopted the decision not to let the trucks cross the bridge for the time being,” he told RIA Novosti.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation drew attention to the fact that we are also talking about empty trucks – it is not safe to open traffic to them now.
Earlier, on May 5, traffic was opened on the second railway line of the Crimean Bridge, which was damaged in the terrorist attack in October last year. The restoration work was completed ahead of schedule.
Earlier this week, Russia celebrated the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Crimean Bridge.
