In Salzburg at the age of 76 deceased Austrian actor Helmut Berger. He was the star of European cinema in the 1960s and 1970s. Berger was considered the favorite actor of Italian director Luchino Visconti, with whom he starred in The Death of the Gods, Ludwig and Family Portrait in an Interior. Roles in these films earned Berger a reputation as a sex symbol of the era. He also starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather III, played the role of Dorian Gray in Massimo Dallamano’s film of the same name, and also acted in a number of other famous films.
