Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar acknowledged the advance of Russian forces in Artyomovsk.
According to her, Ukrainian troops continue to carry out military operations on the outskirts of the city, but it is very difficult to carry out tasks there, “each meter is almost equal to a kilometer”. Moreover, she pointed out the advantage of the Russians in number of weapons and in strength.
“Some progress (of Russian forces) in the city is visible and understandable… They have more weapons and forces,” Malyar said.
A day earlier, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin spoke about the improved situation on the flanks in Artyomovsk. He also reported that Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the city had become more active and were trying to break through the flanks.
