US President Joe Biden has said China will face a backlash from the United States and its allies if it attempts to unilaterally change Taiwan’s status. The American leader announced it during a press conference on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
“We will continue to help Taiwan defend itself. There is a clear understanding among most of our allies that if China takes unilateral action, there will be a response,” Biden said.
According to him, Washington has no intention of easing sanctions against China to improve relations with Beijing.
Biden also said he briefed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on plans by the United States and its allies to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 and other fourth-generation aircraft. Nevertheless, F-16 fighters would not have helped Kiev cope with the situation in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut), Biden believes.
