The China-Central Asia Summit was successfully held on May 18 and 19 in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, China. During the summit, China and the five Central Asian countries concluded a series of cooperation agreements. Two events presented by the China Media Group (CMG) added to the summit’s achievement list, a screening of Chinese film and television programs and a high-level media interaction.

The screening program of Chinese film and television programs organized by the CMG and the media organizations of the five Central Asian countries became popular. Programs from China translated by CMG were published in the main media of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Through these programs, the audience learned about Chinese traditional culture and learned about the development and progress made in China.

Ahead of the China-Central Asia Summit, a high-level dialogue organized by the CMG and the main media organizations of the five Central Asian countries was held on May 16. Responsible persons from media organizations, ambassadors and experts based in China had in-depth discussions on Chinese-style modernization and the new opportunities facing Central Asia. The guests are of the same view that the Chinese-style modernization has given mankind a new choice to realize modernization. This set an example for the vast majority of developing countries, including Central Asia, to modernize independently. During the summit, CMG also signed MoUs with the main media organizations of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
