An Israeli soldier was injured after a crash in Nablus

The military source said a car rushed towards an army soldier in the axis of Hawara in the northern occupied West Bank and ran him over, leaving him slightly injured.

He added that another Israeli soldier, who was accompanying him, opened fire on the car, which fled, stressing that the armed forces were pursuing the perpetrators.

Palestinian sources said the Israeli army has stepped up its presence in the area in order to reach the perpetrators.

The city of Hawara has witnessed several operations against settlers and the Israeli army, which have resulted in deaths and injuries, while the city has recorded attacks by settlers, the largest of which took place last February.

The incident comes after hardline Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stormed the Temple Mount on Sunday amid escalating tensions with the Palestinians.

Ben Gvir’s visit, the second since becoming the most right-wing member of Israel’s government ever, drew condemnation from Palestinians as well as countries and organizations in the Muslim world.
