And the official “WhatsApp” account on “Twitter” on Sunday posted a tweet confirming that the feature will launch soon.
The tweet, which was an interactive graphic, showed a text editing feature.
This feature aims to help users edit messages even after they’ve been sent to friends and colleagues, to remove typos, linguistic errors, or words they deem inappropriate or inaccurate.
According to technical sites, “WhatsApp” is currently testing this feature in the beta version for users of “Android” devices.
It should be available soon for all users and will support multiple languages.
The feature will come in the form of an “edit” option after clicking on the post as it can be edited and resent again.
But this feature, as Dispatches suggest, will be limited to 15 minutes of sending the message, meaning no changes can be made to it after that time has elapsed.
The popular instant communication app, which is used by over 2 billion people, currently offers the option to delete messages after they have been forwarded, but this option can be a problem for some, as it embarrasses them with other users who see the phrase “that message has been deleted”.
