Armenia’s prime minister has warned that his country may withdraw from the CSTO.
Army authorities may soon resolve the territorial dispute with Azerbaijan and recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an integral part of it. This was announced by the Prime Minister of the country Nikol Pashinyan.
“Armenia is ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, provided that the security of the Armenian population is ensured,” the Armenian Prime Minister said at a press conference.
Pashinyan added that he hoped for a quick agreement on the text of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. At the same time, he admitted that the agreement is unlikely to be signed in Moscow on May 25 during a meeting with President Ilkhan Aliyev.
In addition, the Armenian Prime Minister said that his country may decide to withdraw from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). According to him, this will happen if Armenia considers it an “incapable” structure.
The Kremlin has already reacted to Pashinyan’s words. Dmitry Peskov said that the CSTO continues to maintain authority among the member states of this organization.
Earlier it became known that Armenia was preparing to participate in NATO exercises, practicing war with Russia.
