According to the data, rates of clinical depression have been steadily rising in the United States, but they have risen dramatically in recent years.

Young people have reported higher rates of depression than any other age group, with nearly a quarter of adults under the age of thirty reporting depression.

Rates of depression were also higher among women, at a rate of one-third compared to about one-fifth among men.

Phonita Dotson, professor of psychology at the University of Virginia Institute of Neuroscience, said: “There are many reasons for this, some of which is purely biological, which makes women more susceptible to depression due to of the nature of hormones and genes. , and that women express their feelings more in various ways, unlike men who may appear. They suffer from depression with symptoms different from those recognized at the time of diagnosis.

With the high number of people at risk for depression, the United States faces a challenge in providing mental health services, although the administration is trying to focus on the importance of this sector.

According to the latest figures from the Health Resources and Services Administration, the United States needs more than 8,000 mental health practitioners to fill gaps in the sector.

During the past period, many institutions, including public and private sector companies, have begun to take certain measures to improve the psychological health of employees, before they reach advanced levels of depression, including many studies have shown that the work environment is one of its causes.
