“Crimea was Russian for two centuries and Ukrainian for 60 years after being handed over by the dictator at will. I am a strong supporter of referendums and I believe that the people of Crimea have freely expressed their desire to be part of Russia by voting,” TASS quotes Le Pen’s words.
The politician also spoke about her experience in Crimea. “I have my own impressions from trips to Crimea, where I spoke a lot with its people and I could tell that they feel much more integrated into Russia,” Le Pen said. Moreover, she reminded the French parliamentarians that the inhabitants of Crimea had not left the peninsula after the referendum – and this clearly demonstrates their colossal support for Crimea’s entry into Russia.
