On February 9, the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, together with the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, organized a round table on the theme: “Investment immigration to Russia and temporary residence permits for study purposes.” The event took place at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation in a hybrid format.
As guests of honor, the round table was attended by Chairman of the Commission on Migration of the Council of Nationalities under the Government of Moscow Yury Viktorovich Moskovsky, Executive Secretary of the Deputy Inter-Factional Group of the State Duma State of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for interparliamentary relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region Yury Ivanovich Nagernyak and others
As part of the event, guest experts explained which changes in Russian immigration law will be particularly important for those wishing to invest in Russia or study here. According to Sinoruss lawyers who participated in the round table as speakers, the simplified procedure for granting a residence permit to foreign investors in Russia, introduced into Russian legislation, should increase the attractiveness of our country for Chinese citizens, and in terms of requirements for investors and the opportunities available to them, this measure should encourage investment from China.
The experts haven’t ignored the students either. The fact is that China has long been the leader among non-CIS countries in terms of the number of people receiving higher education in Russia. From January 1, Chinese students in Russia will have a good opportunity to obtain a temporary residence permit for educational purposes. This document allows a foreigner to live, work and study in the Russian Federation for the entire period of study and an additional 180 days after study.
