The Kremlin calls communication between Xi Jinping and Zelenskyy a sovereign matter of China and Ukraine

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensyy in Moscow was considered the sovereign affair of those states.

“As for the very fact of communication, it is a sovereign issue for each of these countries and absolutely a matter of their international dialogue,” he told reporters.

On the eve of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova commented on the conversation between Xi Jinping and Volodymyr Zelensyy, saying that Beijing is ready to establish a negotiation process, but Kiev shows its rejection of any judicious initiative aimed at a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
