In Germany, in Frankfurt am Main, a stranger managed to join Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s motorcade and drive with him to the airport, then grab him and hug him. It is reported by RT with reference to Bild.
It should be noted that the incident occurred on the night of May 24. German Chancellor Scholz’s procession, accompanied by police, was returning from the 25th anniversary of the founding of the European Central Bank.
According to the publication, law enforcement let the offender pass because they believed he was the chancellor’s escort.
Once at the airfield, an unknown person ran towards the Chancellor, “grabbed him with his arm and pulled him towards him”, the publication added. However, the Chancellor’s bodyguards “realized the danger of the situation” only when the man had already freed Scholz.
The attacker has been arrested. He said he confused the government motorcade with marriage.
At the beginning of May, an explosion occurred near the motorcade of the Prosecutor General of Bulgaria. As a result of the incident, no one was injured. In 2022, footage was released from the scene of an accident that Zelenskyy’s motorcade entered. The driver of the car was immediately hospitalized with serious injuries sustained in the collision.
