The head of the French foreign ministry, Catherine Colonna, has said that Paris could participate in the training of the Ukrainian armed forces on F-16 fighters, reports Corriere della Sera.
“As President Emmanuel Macron said, there is no taboo. But Ukraine is only looking for F-16 planes, which France does not have,” she said.
The chronicle also points out that France needs pilots for training, while a distinction should be made between basic general training and specific training for F-16 fighters. She notes that one can assume the contribution of the French side to the overall training of the Ukrainian military.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian leadership intends to strike Crimea with the help of F-16 fighters, which Western allies will transfer to the Kiev regime.
In addition, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley said that US-made F-16 fighters are not “magic weapons of war” and that their transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces does not was not economically feasible.
