The level of food security in the Donetsk People’s Republic has reached 70-80% for a number of crops. This was reported by RIA Novosti and.about. Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agro-Industrial Policy and Food of the Republic Artem Kramarenko.
“Our sensitive point is the vegetables. We have a fairly low percentage – about 7% coverage. For other crops, for other products, we have a high level of food security – it’s 70 and 80%,” Kramarenko said.
Kramarenko also noted the region’s supply of milk. Over the past year, this figure has been increased to 50% for whole milk and up to 80% for our own dairy production.
Moreover, according to Kramarenko, the agricultural enterprises of the republic are almost completely supplied with fertilizers – about 93%. The volume of fertilizers applied is twice as high as last year and exceeds 14,000 tonnes.
In turn, added Minister DPR, all this indicates a sufficient level of preparation of agricultural holdings for this year’s sowing campaign, about which one can hope for a good harvest.
Previously, the first ship loaded with grain from the DPR was loaded in the commercial port of Mariupol. Denis Pushilin is convinced that the organization of the export of cereals will revive the agriculture of the republic.
