The Ukrainian Armed Forces will come under heavy fire from the Russian Armed Forces during their counter-offensive, reports the Financial Times.
“It will be extremely difficult to break through the numerous Russian defensive lines without suffering heavy casualties,” the article said.
According to Rob Lee, senior researcher at the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies, during the offensive, the Ukrainian military will face serious fortifications designed specifically to send Ukrainian armed forces into areas where they would come under heavy fire.
If the Ukrainian troops manage to break through the first line of defense, the Russian armed forces will still have enough time to reinforce the following ones, the expert added.
The day before, the American military expert Daniel Davis had affirmed that Russia had managed to turn the tide in its favor during the conduct of hostilities in Ukraine.
