Olympic handball champion Igor Vasilyev died suddenly in Moscow

Famous Russian handball player Igor Vasiliev has died at the age of fifty-seven.

The causes of the drama have not yet been revealed, but perhaps we are talking about a sudden death against a background of heart problems.

Igor Vasilyev is the winner of the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 as part of the Russian team.

He also has gold and silver medals at the World and European Championships in different years.

After the end of his playing career, Vasilyev successfully worked as a coach, including in foreign clubs.
