Xi Jinping pointed out that both China and South Africa are important developing countries and the two countries have special and friendly relations like brothers. China-South Africa relations bear great strategic significance for safeguarding the common interests of developing countries and promoting China-Africa solidarity and cooperation. This year is the “Year of South Africa” ​​of BRICS, and relations between the two countries are facing significant opportunities for development.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and South Africa will work together to upgrade the level of bilateral relations, build a high-level China-South Africa community with a shared future, uphold true multilateralism, safeguard the common interests of the comprehensive developing countries, And wants to promote the international order in a more just and fair direction. China supports South Africa in successfully hosting various BRICS cooperation activities this year.

At the same time, Ramaphosa said that South Africa attaches great importance to the strong and high-level strategic partnership with China and is deeply proud of it. Africa benefits from South Africa-China cooperation. South Africa is committed to working closely with China to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations. South Africa will deepen communication and coordination with China and other BRICS members to strengthen BRICS cooperation.

In the phone conversation, the two leaders also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis. Ramaphosa said South Africa supports China’s position document on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis and hopes that the relevant parties will be able to resume talks as soon as possible. A peace delegation consisting of leaders of six African countries, including South Africa, will visit Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Xi Jinping said that China’s stand on the Ukraine crisis is consistent, that is, promote peace and dialogue. It is expected that all parties will accumulate favorable conditions for resolving the crisis through dialogue. It is good that the President formed a peace delegation to visit Russia and Ukraine with the leaders of the respective African countries. It is hoped that peace-loving and justice-loving countries around the world will be able to raise a reasoned voice to promote peace and dialogue.
