UAE, Ukraine discuss evolving humanitarian situation

This is part of the UAE’s humanitarian support to mitigate the humanitarian impacts on the affected Ukrainian people.

The President of Ukraine expressed his thanks and gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their continued humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine, in light of the current circumstances they are going through, noting the active role of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in achieving the peace and stability around the world.

On a related note, Al-Muhairi met during the visit with Olena Zelenska, wife of the President of Ukraine and President of the Olena Zelenska Foundation for Charities, where they discussed Emirati humanitarian support to care for children affected by the Ukrainian crisis, and new rehabilitation projects for the reconstruction of hospitals and the restoration of damaged schools were presented, as well as the visualization of the evolution of one of the projects on which the Foundation is working under the name of “Family Orphan Homes”, which the UAE has supported with $4 million to construct 10 buildings that house around 100 children.

The Ukrainian President’s wife expressed her thanks to the UAE for the humanitarian and relief support since the beginning of the crisis to the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian refugees in neighboring countries, and praised the central role of the UAE in achieving the peace and stability in the world.

For his part, Al Muhairi affirmed that the UAE is continuing its humanitarian efforts in the Ukrainian arena, providing 2,500 computers to help students with distance education and continue their studies, in a way that contributes to mitigate the humanitarian repercussions of the current crisis, based on its moral values ​​and its well-established humanitarian approach on the international scene. Provide aid and assistance to all peoples of the world in various circumstances.

It should be noted that the UAE is continuing its humanitarian and relief efforts for those affected by the crisis in Ukraine. In October 2022 last year, the President of the UAE provided $100 million to Ukrainian civilians , in addition to sending 3 planes carrying relief supplies, including 2,520 generators and personal supplies.

The UAE has also provided emergency relief to those affected through 11 relief aircraft, medical supplies including 540 tons of medical and food items and 94 tons of non-food items, in addition to send 6 ambulances to support Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Moldova. and Bulgaria.
