There is a need to analyze the causes of migration and develop a roadmap to improve the status of citizens, and find regular ways for the transfer of labor from Africa to other countries. continents. We should recognize the important contributions made by migrant workers to host countries and countries of origin in the Arab Maghreb Union; As their skills have contributed to the growth and development of construction, agriculture, services and industry, as well as to the promotion of innovation and cultural exchanges in the countries of emigration, and that their remittances from abroad are an essential source of foreign exchange in their countries of origin. We must also recognize the challenges and difficulties they face, in particular their abuses, discrimination, low wages and precarious working conditions, which require our collective wisdom to ensure the protection of migrant workers’ rights and the creation of environment conducive to their social development and economic inclusion. Migrants also sometimes represent a heavy social and economic burden for the host countries, hence the importance of statistics on their age and the reasons for their migration; reduce irregular migration. The Observatory is in the process of launching a joint regional database project between itself and the Maghreb Union, in cooperation with international partners, on migration in order to provide it to researchers in this field.
