Every year, several thousand Druids, Pagans, Wiccans, New Age fans, hippies, witches and tourists gather at the ancient stones of Stonehenge to celebrate the Summer Solstice. Gathered at the stone circle above Salisbury Plain in southern England, they dance, sing and meditate the night away to celebrate the longest day of the year. Stonehenge was open to visitors until 8 a.m. Wednesday. Last night is the only one of the year when people can stay so long inside this megalithic structure. In other parts of the UK, followers of neo-pagan religions encounter dawn at Glastonbury Tor or other megalithic structures such as Castlerigg Circle. How was the meeting of the longest day of this year – in the Russian media gallery.
