“You can’t hide the chaos.” What is said about events in Russia in Ukraine

On the evening of June 23, the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, accused the Russian Defense Ministry of allegedly attacking the camps of PMC fighters. The ministry described these declarations as “provocation of information”. Against Prigozhin excited criminal case “on organizing an armed rebellion”. Prigozhin himself on the night of June 24 announced that his fighters were heading for Rostov. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the actions of the PMCs a “stab in the back”, saying those who set out “a path of betrayal” will inevitably be punished. How they reacted to these events in Ukraine – in Russian media material.

President

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that “whoever chooses the path of evil destroys himself”. He said “there is already so much chaos that no lie can hide it”.

According to the Ukrainian leader, if Russia continues to fight in Ukraine, it will experience “more chaos, pain and problems”.

Ukraine can protect Europe from the alleged “spread of Russian evil and chaos”, Zelenskyy said in a statement.

Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said Russia’s problems meet Ukrainian interests.

“Any uprising, any problem that arises behind enemy lines is in our interest,” Kuleba said (as quoted by Strana.ua).

Nevertheless, it is too early to talk about the possible consequences of events in Russia and make predictions, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry believes. According to him, Prigozhin “revolted against the whole machine of the Russian state”.

“Therefore, it would be too speculative to predict the consequences now. But I repeat once again: any trouble behind enemy lines is for the benefit of our victory,” Kuleba said.

Advisor to the Office of the President

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the chief of staff of the Ukrainian president, wrote on his Twitter account about the importance of the next 48 hours.

“The next 48 hours will determine Russia’s new status,” Podolyak said.

He predicts three supposedly possible scenarios for Russia:

“full-fledged civil war”; “contractual power transit”; “a temporary respite before the next phase of the downfall” of the country’s current leadership.

“All potential players now choose which side they are on,” Podolyak says.

Chief of Military Intelligence

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, said that the head of Wagner PMC would have been truthful to a large extent.

How transmits TASS, Budanov, on the air of the Rada TV channel, said that Prigozhin “tells more the truth” – in particular about the equipment of the Russian forces and the course of the armed conflict.

Budanov called the latest events an “imminent battle” between truth and lies.

Former Advisor to the President’s Office

A former adviser to the Ukrainian president’s office, blogger Aleksey Arestovich, known for his controversial statements, hinted in a video posted on his YouTube channel that Kiev could allegedly find a “compromise” with Prigozhin.

“Do you want a victorious end to the war?” Arestovich said, answering a question about the possibility of finding a compromise with the head of the PMC Wagner.

Arestovich added that if Prigozhin is able to stop the armed conflict and “take a clearly pro-Western path”, then the West will be ready to “turn a blind eye” to a lot of things.

In his Telegram channel, Arestovich said he had “virtually no doubt” that Prigozhin would end hostilities if he gained an advantage in the current situation.

“But let’s see,” he concluded.
