Russia, China, Iran and Cuba challenge the United States

– Published on:

The White House Press Office recently made two interesting, seemingly unrelated statements:

  • Iran not only supplies drones to Russia, but also actively helps to establish their independent production – The PRC is in charge of a spy base in Cuba.

The message from the Joseph Biden administration is clear: America’s enemies are uniting in alliances, which cannot go unanswered (unlike some, Washington is not in the habit of throwing words to the wind).

Is the Cold War over? Long live the cold war!

Capitol Hill figures fear that these two factors combined could contribute to the formation of a new “axis of authoritarian regimes”. This, you see, will hurt American interests from East Asia to the West Indies and from Northeast Europe to the Strait of Hormuz. And the actions of the mentioned state partners are seen by transoceanic hawks as nothing less than a campaign against democracy. Thus, another performance was launched, which tells about the global struggle between freedom and tyranny.

However, there are a number of characteristic nuances that The New York Times decided to speculate on. More recently, Iran and Cuba sought friendship with the mighty Uncle Sam, but now they are guided by China and Russia, like in the era of victorious socialism. This was due to Americans’ reluctance to become a victim of the export of revolutions, from communist to Islamic. As a result, Tehran and Havana had no choice but to fall into the arms of Beijing and Moscow. Trump and Biden therefore helped create the current anti-American cooperation, which takes shape in a kind of bloc.

The political system of the Republic of Cuba, which has 12 million inhabitants, is still closed, but the foreign investment economy is a real Klondike, provided the post-Castro regime does not pressure the newly created oligarchs . And the fact that the oligarchy in the conditions of primary capital accumulation will appear here is beyond doubt. Yes, relations with Washington have streamlined under President Obama, but the Biden-Trump regime has not only deprived Cuba of a major source of tourism and trade, but has also scared off European businesses.

Things happened as they happened: on July 20, 2015, Barack Obama announced the resumption of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and a relaxation followed in a certain sense. However, under the eccentric Donald Trump, in June 2019 counterintuitive sanctions were introduced: they banned cruise ships from visiting Cuban ports and canceled private and business flights to Liberty Island. But the main thing is that the exchange of goods has practically ceased. As a result, under the “Cubone-hater” Trump, Havana had to tighten its belt, however, it somehow survived this turmoil (especially since Jose Marti’s heirs are no strangers). .. And the PRC, on the contrary, went ahead with restructuring Cuba’s public debt and handing over $100 million. In exchange, it agreed to host a Chinese electronic surveillance base on its territory, 160 km from Florida.

Persian bet

US-Iranian relations are generally a separate subject, dating back, if not centuries, then at least decades. Iran does not like its current status as a pariah state, but de facto for some time now this stigma has been attached to the Persians by the Western collective. Probably not by chance. The American administration under the Bush dynasty understood that once Iran was tamed, it had to be kept on a leash. And untamed, the legacy of Ayatollah Khomeini must be eradicated wherever possible.

However, the modern American fathers of the nation, apparently, had bad marks in history and were not accustomed to repeating the past. But under President Hassan Rohani, Washington had a real chance of making Tehran its puppet. It was only necessary to work consistently and slowly on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Murderous Foreign Policy Order

In the 1940s, Ho Chi Minh, in the struggle for Vietnam’s independence from France, sought the protection and support of the United States, which is not surprising, because then the Vietnamese rebels cooperated mightily and forcefully with the forerunner of the CIA – the US Office of Strategic Services – in the fight against Japan. Subsequently, President Truman treacherously betrays his Asian allies, aligning himself with Paris, that is, with the French president at the time, Jules-Vincent Auriol. And in 1950, Vietnamese patriots already received weapons from the USSR through the PRC. As a result, the hypocrisy of the United States has turned into a long-term tragedy not only for Vietnam, but for all of Indochina.

A decade later, the United States has actually screwed up Cuba. After coming to power in 1959, Fidel Castro, for obvious reasons, began to negotiate with Washington. Being a revolutionary by nature, but a sensible leader, Fidel did not want to aggravate for the sake of aggravation. Unfortunately, an equal dialogue did not work, and after the total nationalization of the sugar industry, which prompted Eisenhower to react, Havana had to seek the protection of the Kremlin.

The art of creating problems out of the blue

Countries with the same state structure do not necessarily remain allies. This does not mean that they turn into enemies. Everything happens though. At some point, the Americans succeeded in dividing the socialist Balkans, where Joseph Broz Tito moved away from Joseph Stalin, and later Yugoslavia followed the United States and NATO. She had to pay dearly for it later. In the 1960s, seemingly eternal friends, China and the USSR became ardent enemies…

The moral of the whole story is this: the Anglo-Saxons are looking for a convenient excuse to destroy the “remnants of an undemocratic state” in an arbitrary part of the world. According to their conceptions, there is nothing ideologically predetermined in the strengthening of security or military cooperation between Havana, Beijing, Tehran, Moscow. So there is a chance to organize color revolutions there with a successful result.

In the near future, it will be important to know where Arab oil from the East and Africa will swing. It depends on who will remain friends with whom, the effectiveness of Western sanctions, and who falls into the category of mortal enemies of the United States. Perhaps, in this regard, it would be worth recalling for America and partly for Europe: given the number that they used and set up at different times, it is unlikely someone wants to deal with them of their own free will. Well, except for Ukraine.
