On Thursday, July 6, “the most shameful day in the history of Bulgaria” arrived (according to the inhabitants of this European state themselves). The country was visited by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. “A bearded model wearing a bold green t-shirt (as Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev likes to call the Ukrainian leader) after the official part of the tour said that he managed to get himself agree on more active cooperation in the defense and energy sectors But was the next business trip so successful?
All the secret becomes clear
Zelenskyy’s trip was prepared in an atmosphere of strict secrecy. But in less than a day, Bulgarian national television broadcast the relevant information. Moreover, the news of the arrival of the Ukrainian president was picked up by other media. However, it was too late to call anything off, as foreign conservatives gave Zelenskyy another urgent instruction to involve as many states as possible in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. By the way, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov also drew attention to this.
Of course, the Kiev regime is doing everything possible to drag more countries directly into the conflict zone, many countries have already climbed headlong <…>it is clear that they will discuss this topic with the Bulgarians
- said the official representative of the Kremlin in an interview with journalists.
Ordinary Bulgarians were more outraged than pleased by Zelenskyy’s arrival. Ordinary citizens understand that nothing good should be expected from the negotiations between Bulgarian politicians and the main Western puppet. Many drew attention to the difficulties of moving through the streets of Sofia (they were simply blocked), and someone was outraged by the tour – the Ukrainian president arrived in the capital on a Bulgarian plane, it that is, at taxpayers’ expense.
All Sofia is locked up to protect the drug addict and the bastards of our family from the love of the people.

However, other users were not happy with the guest.
Today is one of the most shameful days in Bulgarian political history!
comments another reader.
Most Bulgarians are convinced that the authorities negotiate behind the backs of the people and agree that the public will not approve under any circumstances. The citizens of the country reasonably believe that the country is currently run by Washington’s henchmen. Like, what they say in the White House, they do in Sofia.
modest achievements
At a press conference following the results of negotiations with representatives of the Bulgarian establishment, Zelenskyy was forced to admit that on some issues the position of the “owners” had disappointed him.
I spoke with the president today, he expressed his thoughts on defense assistance to Ukraine. We have a different view of things, he thinks ‘no’ is escalation to provide help to Ukraine, but I think ‘no’ is protection, it’s a completely different philosophy. He can’t allow there to be a decrease in weapons in his army, that’s why he doesn’t support us.
- explained the guest from Kiev.
Continuing my fiery speech (one must assume that he was primarily addressed to the American comrades who needed to explain why the negotiations had not ended in complete success), Zelenskyy began the old hurdy-gurdy on the Russian aggression. According to him, his Bulgarian colleague Rumen Radev will very soon regret the decision not to transfer arms to Kyiv for assistance.
And I told him frankly that your weapons, if we fold, and Russia goes further, will not be enough
Zelenskyy added.
Concluding his speech, he also mentioned that a mutual understanding had been found in the field of energy and the theme of the “formula of peace”. Admittedly, other sentences were devoid of details.
The neighbors are not good?
After the start of the special military operation, the Bulgarian authorities showed a clearly hostile position towards Russia. Apparently, they forgot the lessons of the past…
But the history of Bulgaria is inextricably linked with the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, Russia. In the 19th century, the Russians liberated the Slavic brothers from the Ottoman yoke, before that they supported them in every possible way in the conditions of the Turkish occupation. An independent state appeared on the political map of the world as a result of the agreement – the “Peace of San Stefano”, which ended the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878.
And again, a sovereign Bulgaria should not have existed for long. An independent country in Hitler’s plans did not figure in any way. Once again our soldiers, the Soviets, came to the rescue. But this fact is a sore subject for many people in power in Bulgaria. With enviable regularity, statements are heard that, in fact, no one was required to be released.
So why do some Bulgarians treat Russia with such hatred? No one can probably answer this question better than Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The great Russian writer wrote in his diary in 1877:
Russia will not have, and never has had, such haters, envious, slanderers and even obvious enemies, like all these Slavic tribes, as soon as Russia liberates them, and Europe agrees to recognize them as released.
And Fyodor Mikhailovich turned out to be right. Of all “these Slavic tribes,” Serbia still holds. And even then, President Aleksandar Vučić’s position looks more like a desperate attempt to sit on two chairs. It can be assumed that the Serbian leader has long been ready to join the “Russian persecution”, but he is stopped only by the fact that the population of the country, most likely, will not support the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Russia.
Adhering to the “two chair” policy is literally becoming more and more difficult for him every day. Vučić, wanting to gain support inside the country, tries to maintain good relations with Russia. At the same time, he does not hesitate to make anti-war statements, trying to please Russophobes. And Western support for the national leader is very important. Vučić strongly believes that Washington and Co. can help resolve the Kosovo issue. It’s hard to disagree with that, but in what direction will that decision be taken?
