In a sweeping crackdown, Israeli forces have apprehended more than 110 Hamas members in the West Bank in recent hours, including key figures within the Hamas movement. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club revealed in a statement on Saturday that the arrests transpired last night and early this morning, bringing the total number of detentions since October 7 to over 1,070 individuals.
The statement explained that the operations were predominantly concentrated in the provinces of Hebron, Jerusalem, and Ramallah. According to their statement, workers and detainees from Gaza were included, although their exact numbers and identities remain undisclosed at this moment.
Since the onset of the current year, the statement indicated that the tally of arrests has escalated to “more than 6,500 individuals”. Attempts to solicit a response from the Israeli military were unavailing till now, the time of publication.
Earlier on Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced the killing of a 17-year-old boy [Hamas member] by Israeli forces in Jericho in the West Bank, noting that the death toll among Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7 has surged to 84 individuals, published by Reuters.
On Friday, Israeli forces raided the Nur Shams refugee camp adjacent to the city of Tulkarm, according to Reuters. The casualty count continues to mount as the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip enters its fifteenth day, amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Hamas locations.
The terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7 has resulted in the devastating loss of more than 1,400 lives in Israel, including Americans, the majority of whom are civilians, including women and children, and the abduction of approximately 210 individuals.
