Germany will continue to help Ukraine while supporting Israel in the fight against Hamas

In a recent German-Ukrainian business forum held in Berlin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated Germany’s steadfast commitment to Ukraine and Israel. The forum, which was virtually attended by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, saw Scholz vowing to extend aid to Ukraine “for as long as it is necessary”.

Scholz lambasted Russian President Vladimir Putin for his “imperialist delirium” and assured that Ukraine would not relent in its fight for freedom. “This has been evident for over 600 days since the invasion began in February 2022,” he added.

During the same forum, arms manufacturer Rheinmetall disclosed details about its joint venture with Ukrainian company UkrOboronProm. This collaboration aims to maintain and produce military equipment and is part of Ukraine’s larger strategy to develop its defense industry. Reuters.

Scholz also highlighted Germany’s unwavering support for Israel, especially in the wake of recent attacks by Hamas, a group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States. This commitment, he noted, is deeply rooted in Germany’s historical responsibility for the Holocaust.

Earlier this month, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that Germany would allow Israel to use two German Heron TP combat drones and was considering an Israeli request for ammunition for warships.
