The United States has imposed new sanctions against ten entities and four individuals from Iran, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia, whom Washington accused of supporting the production of Iranian drones.
This was reported by the US Treasury Department.
The network facilitated the purchase of components worth hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Jihad Organization to support the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the agency said.
“Iran’s unacceptable production and proliferation of deadly drones to its terrorist forces in the Middle East and to Russia continues to heighten tensions and prolong conflicts, undermining stability,” said Brian Nelson, Under Secretary for Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence.
Washington has long accused Tehran of supplying such weapons to Russia for use in Ukraine.
Iran denies supplying Moscow with drones for the war in Ukraine.
