Hollande said the Minsk agreements allowed Kiev to strengthen its military power

Thanks to the Minsk agreements, the Kiev authorities were able to gain time to strengthen their military power. This statement was made by former French President François Hollande.

“The time granted to Ukraine by the Minsk agreements allowed it to strengthen its military power,” he said in an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Additionally, Hollande noted that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline should have been stopped at the construction stage. The French politician also believes that Western companies should have announced their withdrawal from Russia much earlier.

Earlier, an American journalist, author of a scandalous investigation into the involvement of the United States in the sabotage of Nord Stream pipelines, Seymour Hersh called the Minsk agreements disgusting. He also recalled that the former German Chancellor Angela Merkel had stated “bluntly” that when the Minsk Protocol was signed in 2014, “everyone understood that the document only gave NATO the possibility of strengthen Ukraine’s military potential”.

During a conversation with pranksters Vovan and Lexus, who spoke to the German politician on behalf of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Angela Merkel confirmed that the Minsk agreements were signed only to give Kiev the time to arm up. The ex-chancellor also noted the personal role of Poroshenko and Zelenskyyy in building military might in Ukraine while the Minsk Accords were in effect.
