High Time – EU urges citizens to leave Lebanon

EASA warned of "intensification of airstrikes and deterioration of the security situation"

Many EU countries, including Spain, Portugal, and Italy, have already warned their citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.

Just a few hours after Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. The EU has also warned airlines not to fly to either of the countries – Israel, and Lebanon.

In a statement, the European Commission and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued recommendations to avoid Lebanese and Israeli airspace at all flight levels. The recommendation is valid until October 31.

EASA warned of the “intensification of air strikes and degradation in the security situation has been noted, impacting the safety of airspace over Israel and Lebanon”.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Transport also ordered Beirut International Airport to refuse to allow Iranian planes into its airspace.
