Political Opportunity – Netanyahu says, “I gave the order” to kill Nasrallah

He said that the elimination of Nasrallah was essential for achieving the goals that were set

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah because his elimination was key to enabling the safe return of residents of northern Israel.

This was Netanyahu’s first public statement since Hassan Nasrallah’s killing by IDF bombing in Beirut, Netanyahu exclaimed that Israel has “settled the account.”

Opponents of Netanyahu said that he is probably taking advantage of the situation during this troubled time for him in the nation. Currently, Israelis are not in favor of Netanyahu and want to replace him and this could be a good chance for him to claim such a victory. Numerous protests have been noted within the last 2 years, especially after the controversial bill of “judicial reforms in Israel.”

In the first public statement since Hassan Nasrallah was killed, he said that they’ve “settled the account” with the “mass murderer” responsible for the murders of Israelis and dozens of American and French citizens.

Netanyahu said of Nasrallah that he was “the central engine of the Iranian axis of evil”, and that he and his colleagues were “the architects of the plan to destroy Israel”.

He said that the elimination of Nasrallah was an essential condition for achieving the goals that were set.
