Israel has targeted the Martyr Salah Gandur Hospital in Bint Jbeil, Lebanon. The attack injured many nurses and healthcare workers, and local authorities have called for urgent international assistance.

According to the Lebanese official agency NNA, the Martyr Salah Gandur Hospital campus and its surroundings were hit by four artillery shells from Israel.

The news reported that many medical personnel and nurses were injured as a result of the attack, but no detailed information was shared on the subject.

Following Israel’s demands and threats to target many villages and towns in southern Lebanon, the Marjayun State Hospital, whose medical staff were evacuated, was left out of service.

Increasing casualties

The Israeli army, which has been continuing controlled clashes with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border since October 8, 2023, detonated pagers and radios used by Hezbollah on September 17-18, and began conducting airstrikes on Lebanon’s southern cities, as well as the Beqaa and Baalbek regions, on September 23.

The Israeli army announced on September 30 that it had begun limited and intense ground attacks against Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

In a written statement made today by the Disaster Management Unit of the Lebanese government, it was reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel on Lebanon since October 8 has increased to 2,011 and the number of injured has increased to 9,535.
