German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier congratulated Donald Trump on his election as US President and assured that Washington can count on Germany as a strong partner.

“German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory,” Cerstin Gammelin, a spokeswoman for the German president, wrote on the social network platform X. “Transatlantic relations are crucial for the stability and prosperity of our two countries and our continents,” Steinmeier’s letter reads. “In this turbulent world, full of conflicts and uncertainty, our cooperation is of great value and strength, both bilaterally and as partners in NATO and the UN. You can count on Germany as a strong partner for the United States,” the German president said.
